What is a Child / Adolescent Psychiatrist?

The child and adolescent psychiatrist is a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy who specializes in the diagnosis and, if indicated, the treatment of disorders of thinking, feeling and/or behavior affecting children, adolescents, and their families. A child and adolescent psychiatrist offers families the advantages of a medical education, the medical traditions of professional ethics, and medical responsibility for providing comprehensive care.

Who is Dr. Randall McIntyre?

I'm Dr. Randall McIntyre and I've practiced child and adolescent psychiatry in Austin, Texas for approximately 25 years. I was raised in Midland, Texas. Have a BA- biology from The University of Texas - Austin, and an MD from The University of Texas Medical School-Houston. I did my internship in Family Practice at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.  I subsequently completed residencies in General and Child psychiatry at the University of Texas  Medical school -Houston.

How do I set up an appointment?

Fill out the appropriate intake inform and call the office at 512-687-3426  once the form is completed.  The initial appointment will be for an hour.   Please note that there is no receptionist during most office hours.  There is a wall switch with Dr. McIntyre's name on it.  Please press this to alert him of your presence.  

Do you accept insurance?

I do not currently accept insurance, but will fill out a receipt so that patients may bill their own insurance.
